Do it! with AwarePlus

Aware logo

Many of the public sector organisations in the region, private companies and other organisations already know and use AwarePlus for much of their training. The Do it! training is special because it's only available for people working in the voluntary and charity sector.

Places for this course are going to be very strictly limited indeed and we expect to fill them all relatively quickly.

what's it all about?

Have you ever found yourself with a great idea about how to make the world a better place but haven't had the courage to do it? What about wondering why it is that some people seem to have the ability to get their own way more easily than you do?

Well, it's not magic - though it can seem like that. We've come up with a fantastic new one-day training day called "Do it!" where we'll work with you to show you how to find that little bit more confidence you need to take your Big Idea and run with it... and how to get other people to let you!

You'll get to see some of the nerve-combating techniques used by professional actors, dancers and even Olympic athletes and get to themselves focused and ready to step up and do what they're afraid of: you'll also hear some of the new methods developed by psychologists for developing long-term assurance.

As you'd expect, the day will be relaxed and informal, with time to reflect, practice, network and eat as well as learn. We'll start at 9:30 (with coffee before-hand to be civilised) and finish at 3:30. Staff will be on hand afterwards to answer any one-to-one questions you might have too.

You'll also get follow-up to make sure you keep it up!

AwarePlus background

AwareUK was formed in 1980 to provide training, consultancy and trouble-shooting for the public sector in the north of England, by Mel Nixon. Over the last nearly 30 years the company has grown, both in terms of clients and diversity. Dr Simon Raybould joined the company in 2004 and in 2008 it became apparent that it was sensible to split the company. AwareUK continues to provide the very best in coaching, specialist training and trouble-shooting, while AwarePlus continues the tradition of excellent training established over the last three decades.

Simon Raybould background

Dr Simon Raybould, Director of AwarePlus has backgrounds in research, management, training and theatre. His career has included such diverse periods as researching in geo-statistical techniques for identifying cancers and working as the Technical Director of the highly prestigious Northern Youth Dance Company, funded by the EU and the Arts Council. His style combines the rigour and detail of a trained academic with an international publishing record with an understanding of how people react based upon his time in theatres. He has one wife, two children and hobbies ranging from reading to fire-eating.
