John McCain is working with a presentations coach to try and sort things out. (See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/newstopics\/uselection2008\/johnmccain\/2258579\/John-McCain-works-with-speech-coach.html\">The Telegraph<\/a> for an example story.)<\/p>\n<p>Given how good Obama is, McCain is obviously in trouble when it comes to the bigger, set-piece presentations and &#8211; although it doesn&#8217;t automatically mean he wouldn&#8217;t be as good a President &#8211; it does mean it&#8217;s less likely he&#8217;ll get the chance.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s something I blogged about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.curved-vision.co.uk\/presentation-skills-blog\/2008\/03\/26\/america-the-brave\/\">before<\/a> but it&#8217;s nice to know that McCain has finally caught up with what&#8217;s been obvious to the rest of us for a very long time.  Perhaps not making speaches as well as his opponent doesn&#8217;t mean he wouldn&#8217;t be a good President, but there&#8217;s a bit of me that thinks &#8220;if he&#8217;s taken this long to spot the obvious, perhaps <strong>that<\/strong> means he wouldn&#8217;t be a good President&#8230;..&#8221;  :)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well it&#8217;s hardly come as a surprise to hear that several papers (both sides of the Atlantic) are reporting that, as part of the American fight for the White House, Sen.
