I\u2019m sitting here, listening, as presentations are written around me – which is a bit depressing, for a couple of reasons.<\/p>\n
Firstly, we\u2019re all up against the clock and the room we\u2019re working in isn\u2019t helpfully designed for a group of people to work together in.<\/p>\n
More importantly, however, is the fact that I can hear them being written<\/strong>.\u00a0 Not designed or created or anything like that, but \u201cwritten\u201d.<\/p>\n I can hear people busily typing away.<\/p>\n And that implies that there are lots of words being typed.<\/p>\n I\u2019d rather hear mouse clicks.<\/p>\n Mouse clicks imply that something creative is being done – perhaps using images etc. \u00a0 All you can do with keyboard clicks is type words, but with the click of a mouse you can do things like insert images, rotate stuff, change things, work on transitions, fonts, colours…<\/p>\n I\u2019d love to hear more mouse clicks than keyboard taps.<\/p>\n Mouse clicks are more to do with design – keystrokes are more to do with writing.<\/p>\n Sigggghhhhhh<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Three hours later.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n God help me, I was right.<\/p>\n So much writing, so many bullet points, so many electrons wasted. it\u2019s a good job electrons can be re-used, to be honest. Otherwise bad presenters would have wasted the world\u2019s supply of electrons in only a couple of years.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not a tool or a technique, more of a trick or a philosophy… when you\u2019re creating a presentation, try and aim for at least as many mouse clicks as keystrokes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I\u2019m sitting here, listening, as presentations are written around me – which is a bit depressing, for a couple of reasons.
