Rather like an elephant, you know it when you see it.<\/p>\n

For me, presentations are about two things<\/p>\n

  • penetration – getting something into someone’s head; and<\/li>\n
  • retention – making sure it stays there.<\/li>\n

    One of my favorite poets Maya Angelou once commented that people will forget what you said and that they’ll even forget what you did but they’ll remember how you made them feel… so to me, a good presenter is someone who not only explains and delivers the facts, but also makes people feel<\/em> something about those facts.<\/p>\n

    Of course, that’s easier said than done – and perhaps massively obvious – but sometimes it does no harm to restate the obvious. :) Presentations are about both content and<\/strong> delivery…… Neither is worth anything on their own.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
