Speaking

Long-term readers of this blog will know that we do presentation skills training (and we like to think we do it well!).  It’s time for us to introduce you to our new baby, however!

Last Friday (3rd of June, 2011) we went live with divventpanic.info.

What’s at divventpanic.info? Well why not take a look.  Basically, the head man here at Curved Vision, Simon Raybould, (me, in fact!) has always been available as a speaker and this is the website to look at to find out more about what he speaks on, where he’s speaking, and how to book him.

What does Divventpanic mean? We’re Geordies – adopted, not natural. Divvent is simply Geordie for “Don’t”. Divventpanic just means ‘stay calm, don’t worry, don’t get your knickers in a twist, chill’.

So what’s the beef – what does I speak about, eh? Over the last five or six years, I’ve been doing a lot of research into how to stay calm, how to deal with nerves and so on. Obviously, because of our presentations training.  Alongside that comes and expertise in the bigger, longer-term issues of things like ’emotional robustness’ or ‘resilience’… both of which are fancy terms from dealing with it when shit happens.

And it does.

For example, anyone starting up a business is going to take a lot of knockbacks when they don’t get the business they bid for. Or what about anyone who’s working as self-employed.  If you can’t stay strong you won’t last (probably) and won’t enjoy the experience (certainly). There are tools though, which can help – it’s not just down to  dumb luck.

And it’s those tools that I talk about. Simon – Resilience speaker

Simon is one of the UK's most highly regarded presentation skills trainers and professional speakers in the fields of presenting, confidence and emotional resilience.
