The Girl Effect

Today, October 4th, there’s a movement I was introduced to by http://www.taramohr.com/joinus/ to blog about The Girl Effect. I’ve blogged about it before, commenting that their videos were inspirational and – if just from a professional point of view – I wish I’d written them. Try this one for instance…

What can I say?

I’ve got daughters. Two of them. One’s a medical student who’s just spent time in Asia, working, where she was joined by her younger sister to travel. I’m immensely proud of both of them and – as a parent – I was also worried sick in case anything went wrong while they were too far away for me to help. Hey, when they’re in the UK I can help. I can always be there in a matter of hours and I can get money to them in a matter of minutes – on the far side of the world they’re more on their own! :)

What must it be like to have children that you can’t help?

The least I can do is blog.  Better yet I can get of my backside and do something.  I’ve got a couple of days at the end of this week when I’m not delivering training.  I’m supposed to be researching and doing some personal development.  What better personal development could I do than spend a couple of days changing the world?

Join me, anyone?
