A bit of self-indulgence (and I’m barely even sorry)

Forgive me. I’m going to brag.

Firstly, there are two reviews in for my next book. (You can sign up for updates at presentationgenius.info.) and I love them both.

Paul McGee – The Sumo Guy. International speaker and best selling author says
“‘There is no presentation this book wouldn’t improve. Whatever your experience of presenting and whoever your audience, this book will make you a better presenter’

Not bad, eh?  And from someone who speaks so successfully for a living as Paul it’s remarkably satisfying. At the more ‘business end’ of the spectrum is this review:

Joanna Berry - Director of Engagement at Newcastle Business School says
“First impressions are, as Simon says in this accessible and clearly written book, very important. If this book was out on a first date it would shake your hand firmly. It would be simply, elegantly dressed, and have a great sense of humour. It would listen attentively, like the same music as you and know exactly when it was time to go. With the time and venue for date two in its pocket.”

Actually, she says a lot more (all of it good) but that’s the bit that’s most fun to read :)

cover_cropAs you’ll see from the image on the right, the design for the front cover has also come back from the publishers. It’s clean and simple, and after a couple of seconds of hmmmmm-ing I decided I like it. What say you all, gentle readers?

And while I’m bragging, I’ve just been given the award of Member of the Year for my region of the Professional Speaking Association of UK and Ireland. Thank you, all.

In part, I suspect, the award was partially because of this very blog, but as I only heard the news over the weekend I’ve yet to have that confirmed… I’ll let you know! :)

Simon is one of the UK's most highly regarded presentation skills trainers and professional speakers in the fields of presenting, confidence and emotional resilience.
